What chain sizes does the SnubberBuddy fit?
8mm, 10mm and 12mm chain to ISO and DIN standards.
How strong is it?
Break load is 5,500kg, working load 1,375kg.
How do I attach it?
Open the spring-loaded gate and clip it around your anchor chain. It stays in place on its own — you don’t need to keep tension on the snubber line to hold it there.
How do I release it?
Pull the release line. The shackle detaches instantly, without needing to bring the chain up first. The line can be run to the bow or led aft to the cockpit, so you can release it without leaving the helm.
Can I release it under load?
Yes — that’s the point. You don’t need to ease tension on the chain first.
Does it work with my existing snubber setup?
It’s designed to work with a standard snubber line and anchor chain; it doesn’t replace your snubber, it just gives you a quick-release point on the chain.
